  • Hilary Picton: The forecast was awful but fortunately the rain held off and the match was played in glorious sunshine. Tavistock's Frances and Olivia were too strong for Hill Lane's Debbie and Sandra but struggled against Nichola and Marina who were able to vary their shots and keep the Tavi pair guessing. Tavistock's Claire and Helen combined well with Claire's power and Helen's delicate drop shots to win their rubbers although both Hill Lane pairs came back well in the second set.
